Volta's next product is to be an alternative to the Chargeasap Connect Pro in that it condenses the technology of that entire cable with its interchangeable magnetic ports into an adapter for an existing USB-C cable.
To that end, it too has swappable magnetic tips for the Lightning and microUSB ports, as well as one for USB-C itself, so that it does not have to be removed regardless of what device they want to charge.
Accordingly, the user can charge either their iPhone 13 Pro, Kodak Super 8 or Ledlenser P7R Pro with a single cable equipped with this adapter.
This magnetic adapter is also touted as a "world first" in that it is rated for Thunderbolt 5, and should thus support up to 240W charging, transfer files at up to 120Gb/s and be used with an up-to-16K monitor.
Volta does not make it clear whether the cable in question needs to support Thunderbolt 5 (like this Anker Prime-series accessory from Amazon) or not, although the former seems most likely.
The new adapter's launch date has yet to be determined, although Volta has announced that it will go for an introductory price of $15 on that day, as opposed to the adapter's full $25 price.
