Anker launches new USB-C to Lightning Cable for Apple products
Anker has launched a USB-C to Lightning version of its upcycled braided cable in North America and Europe. A USB-C to USB-C variant arrived in June. At the time of writing, only the 3ft (90 cm) cable is available, though images in the product listing indicate that a 6ft (180 cm) length is on the way.
The new USB-C to Lightning Cable offers up to 60W fast charging, with Anker suggesting it could be used to charge an iPhone 14 to 50% in 25 minutes. On top of this, the accessory delivers an 480 Mbps data transfer rate, though it is worth noting that it does not support screen mirroring. The braided cable is described as “tangle-free” and able to withstand over 35,000 bends. The company suggests that this will allow it to last for up to 10 years, assuming it was bent eight times daily. However, the cable is only covered with a 24-month warranty.
The exterior is made from recycled materials and the cable comes with a silicone cord organizer. While some pictures show a blue version of the cable, only the black variant is currently available. The Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable (3ft, Upcycled-Braided) retails for $21.99/€17.99. It is unclear when the longer 6ft (180 cm) version will arrive, or when either product will be released in other countries like the UK.
