Chargeasap Connect Pro magnetic-release 100W cable with LED display nears $180,000 mark on Kickstarter

Chargeasap asserts that its Connect Pro is not just a magnetic cable, it is a magnetic cable with an in-built LED screen.

That part of the new accessory is found in a module some way along its braided length rather than built into its end-cap as with some of its rivals, such as this USB-C to -C version from Baseus on Amazon.

Nevertheless, the Connect Pro is rated for the same 100W Power Delivery standard, and also to charge iPhones at their theoretical maximum rate of 27W.

Chargeasap's new cable is thus backed to deliver an old-school MagSafe experience, even with microUSB devices and iPhones stuck with Lightning ports.

The OEM projects that the Connect Pro and its set of interchangeable magnetic connector ends will be $60 as a retail product - however, it has been made available as a backer reward on the accessory's Kickstarter campaign for as little as $19.

It has accrued nearly $180,000 at the time of writing, even though it has until August 24, 2024 to collect funding.
