The ChargerLAB Power-Z AK001 Multi-Function 240W USB PD Charging Test Cable with Color Display has arrived in the US. An integrated 0.96-in (~24 mm) display on the USB-C cable lets you view accurate real-time charging data, such as voltage, current and power. Bidirectional charging is supported, with the current direction indicated on the display, and you can also use the gadget to monitor the temperature. Other data you can collect with the device includes energy, time, D+, D- and CC.
You can cycle through various interfaces using a button on the back of the display, and a long press on this button will rotate the screen. As its name suggests, the AK001 is suitable for devices drawing up to 240 W (5 A) power across a wide range of voltages with low internal resistance. At the maximum performance, the cable allows you to fully charge a laptop in around 2.5 hours. The test cable is 1.5 m (~5 ft) long, and the gadget uses an e-marker chip.
You can buy the ChargerLAB Power-Z AK001 Multi-Function 240W USB PD Charging Test Cable with Color Display in the US for US$29.99. ChargerLAB has pointed out that this new product is a simplified yet significantly cheaper version of the company’s KM003C Portable USB-C Fast Charging Tester. It is worth noting that only a limited quantity of the AK001 is available.
