MWC 2023 | Tecno MegaBook S1 2023 announced as cornerstone of new expanded ecosystem offerings
Tecno's inaugural MWC showcase may be dominated by the launch of the cutting-edge Phantom V Fold mobile flagship; however, the OEM has announced that it has ambitions that go beyond the establishment of a foldable line-up and into the realm of challenging other firms such as Xiaomi in making everything for the smart home under its brand.
To this end, the Megabook S1 2023 will upgrade to new 'connected master hub' Tecno OneLeap and PC SwiftTransfer (the latter of which is rated to be controlled in response to hand gestures) features as well as 13th-gen Intel silicon on its release.
The MediaTek Helio G88-powered Spark 10 Pro may also get in on this action. Tecno did not go into much more of its specs in detail on the MWC stage, but did hype its 50MP main camera and dual flash-enabled "32MP ultra-clear glowing selfie camera", both "tailored for Gen Z".
Finally, for those of all ages interested in overtly futuristic device tweaks, Tecno has also debuted the Chameleon Coloring Technology finish for smartphones. Unlike that of the Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition, it is based on new "electrically controlled sub-micron prism material" that allows for effects more like those of an (extremely) RGB PC.
