Tecno asserts that consumers will be able to "See Bigger" and "Sound Louder" on their laptop for less with the latest addition to the MegaBook series. The K16S is powered by the Ryzen 5 7430U, and is touted to have ultrabook portability with an all-metal chassis. It is rated to handle generative AI tasks powered by Windows and OneLeap for wireless links to other Tecno devices.

Tecno's new MegaBook K-series (a tier below S and T in the OEM's rankings) laptop has been slated as an entry-level PC on its IFA 2024 debut, yet one up-to-date enough to boast a Microsoft Copilot key.

The Ryzen 5 7430U processor is paired to a "large displacement cooling fan and multiple air vents" in the K16S, and is thus touted to drive its cost-effective performance "without significant slowdowns" (although attempts at light gaming only is recommended)

The laptop also packs 2.5W Tecno VOC Sound System speakers with extra DTS "master tuning", a 2MP "AI" webcam and a microphone rated to reproduce the user's voice from up to 5 meters away from the PC, all powered by a 70Wh battery.

The K16S' metallic housing also boasts a fingerprint reader integrated into its power button and an RJ-45 jack, in addition to 7 other ports even less well specified at this time.

Tecno has yet to announce pricing or a release date for the new K16S, but does divulge that it can be configured with up to 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD thus far. For what it's worth, a 32GB RAM/2TB ThinkBook 16 G6 with the same processor is currently $679 on Amazon.
