The Pocket Go is not just a Ryzen 7 8840HS-powered handheld console - it is the world's first such PC specifically designed for augmented reality (AR) gaming with its own pair of connected glasses. Tecno has now put it on display in Messe Berlin as a Global Product Technical Innovation Award-winning device.

The Pocket Go looks like an exceptionally chunky controller for Tecno's compatible AR Pocket Vision glasses - however, it actually houses the Ryzen 7 8840HS silicon and 50Wh battery necessary to power the system.

Accordingly, Tecno asserts that the Pocket Go can simulate a 215-inch screen for PC gaming via the Pocket Vision's 0.71-inch micro OLED displays.

The gaming handheld is also touted to pack a "laptop level cooling system", even if it is a little light on ports and has 16GB of RAM, with no word on its amenability to an upgrade to date.

Nevertheless, the Pocket Go is now officially the latest winner of the AR Immersive PC Gaming Experience Innovation Gold Award, given out at IFA 2024 due to its ability to bring an "unparalleled 6D immersive experience" to its users.

Unfortunately, despite this new accolade (to go with its pre-existing Red Dot award), Tecno is still no closer to announcing international pricing or availability for its AR gaming handheld.

In the meantime, you can grab a Lenovo Legion Go for as little as $589.01 on Amazon today (...while you still can?).
