Rokid has introduced the AR Joy 2 at IFA 2024 as a combination of its Max 2 glasses and its first-gen Station, which, as the OEM already launched the AR Lite kit made up of the same glasses with the second generation of the controller hub, is a little odd.
Nevertheless, the Joy 2 is now touted as the AR content equivalent of the gaming-focused Tecno Pocket Go, although the Max 2 glasses are physically connected to the Station for the "seamless streaming" of apps such as Disney Plus, YouTube and Netflix.
Then again, that allows the glasses to keep their approximation of a 120Hz 210-inch screen through their micro OLED displays on for up to 5 hours at a time thanks to the Station's 5,000mAh battery. Then again, it runs an OS based on Android 12 out of the box rather than Google TV.
The AR Joy 2 is now listed on rokid.com for $498 or on Amazon for $499, while the Station and Max 2 glasses are $199 and $399 respectively as standalone products.
