Rokid has announced its Kickstarter campaign for the Rokid AR Lite suite. Users can enjoy multimedia or work within a multi-window virtual environment with the ultralight Rokid Max 2 AR glasses powered by the Rokid Station 2 host unit. This suite is a follow-up to the 2023 Rokid AR Studio.

Rokid has announced the Rokid AR Lite suite for 2024 containing the new Rokid Max 2 artificial reality glasses and the Rokid Station 2 host unit. Together, the portable AR suite allows users to enjoy multimedia content on-the-go with virtual screens up to 300 inches in size.

The ultra-lightweight 2.65 ounce (75 gram) Max 2 utilizes dual, Sony 0.68” Micro-OLED displays capable of 90 Hz refresh rates and 600 Nits of brightness. The virtual display has a 1200P resolution visible across a 50 degree field-of-view while sound comes from temple speakers for an immersive experience that can be worn all day long.

The Max 2 fits a broad range of users with adjustable pupillary distance (PD) and vision correction (0.00D to -6.00D for users with myopia/nearsightedness). The glasses will be available in dawn silver and night black colors.

The YodaOS-Master operating system on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Rokid Station 2 host unit powers the glasses. Users control the virtual environment with the touch controls on the Station 2 along with virtual gestures. The multi-screen mode enables multiple windows on a 300 inch virtual display while the motion mode stabilizes the virtual display to reduce motion sickness when riding in vehicles and trains. The Station 2 can also screen cast to external monitors including 32:9 ultra-wide displays.

The system has 8 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM with wireless connectivity over Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The unit can pair with wireless keyboards and connect to cloud and network attached storage drives for efficient virtual work. Dual USB-C ports provide local connectivity and 18 watt fast-charging of the 5000 mAh battery.
