ViXion launches crowdfunding campaign for ViXion01S autofocusing eyeglasses on Greenfunding and Kibidango
ViXion has launched its crowdfunding campaign for the ViXion01S autofocusing eyeglasses. The new model is lighter than the initial model, the ViXion 1, and allows workers to focus on tiny objects up close and distant objects with less eyestrain without switching glasses.
The autofocusing eyeglasses automatically focus on objects between 5cm and infinity. Work on miniatures, electronic components, and other fine details can be conducted without relying on magnifying glasses or special magnifying eyeglasses. The pupillary distance (PD) can be adjusted between 55mm and 73mm, fitting the majority of eyeglass wearers.
Interested buyers can support the campaign with a contribution of 64,800 yen (~$430) for one pair of glasses through Greenfunding or Kibidango. Readers who can't spend that much can try a pair of inexpensive magnifying eyeglasses like this one on Amazon.
The ViXion01S uses a USB-C power source to charge in three hours, giving the glasses a runtime of 15 hours. The glasses measure 155.5 x 163.44 x 42.5 mm (6.1 x 6.4 x 1.7 inches) and weigh 31 grams (1.1 ounces), a 40-percent reduction in weight versus the initial model.
The outer frame adds another 15 grams (0.5 ounce) and can be fitted with blue-light blocking, polarized, or other lenses. The ViXion01S does not need the outer frame for normal operation.
ViXion was spun off from one of the industry leaders in optical lens manufacturing, HOYA, in 2021.
