Windows 11 24H2 breaks clipboard history — quick fix restores feature
Windows 11 24H2 is a major update, bringing new AI features and other advancements to the operating system. However, the new update also brings multiple bugs, like the previous pointer bug we reported. Now, there is another issue: the clipboard history feature does not work.
The clipboard history feature was first introduced in Windows 10’s October 2018 Update. The aim of this feature is to maintain a history of copied items. Apart from text, it can also maintain a history of copied images. With Windows 11, the clipboard history feature also got enhanced by allowing users to see their recently used GIFs and emojis.
According to the news source Windows Latest, there is a new issue with the Windows 11 24H2 update where the clipboard shows blank history.
If you are one of the affected users, you can try out a simple workaround until Microsoft officially fixes this issue.
- Go to Settings on your PC, then navigate to System and click on Clipboard.
- Toggle off Suggested Actions if it is turned on.
- Now open the Clipboard by pressing the Windows + V keys. Check if it shows copied items as expected.
- You may turn Suggested Actions back on.
Currently, there is no official acknowledgment from Microsoft regarding this issue.
