Tecno is said to have developed a highly distinctive camera hump for its upcoming Camon 20 series of Android smartphones. It is also now said to consist of vanilla and Pro variants as well as the 20 Premier flagship. They may fall into a sub-US$300 bracket on their launch to their initial market, with slight compromises on what is still expected of a good mid-range device in 2023.

In a world of new smartphones projected to try and fit the iPhone or Galaxy S23 mould as much as possible, the Tecno Camon 20 series is thought to stand out with much less of a conformist design on their imminent launch.

The allegedly upcoming line-up is thought to include a Pro model, which may also have a FHD/120Hz profile for its hole-punched display. Then again, its 6.7-inch screen is now tipped to be LCD rather than AMOLED as in its top-end Premier sibling.

There may also a be a vanilla Camon 20, which might be the "Ck8n" model that stars in a new live-image leak. It features the same angular camera hump as that of the "Premier", albeit with a rear panel customized with an interesting geometric pattern as opposed to plain vegan leather as in its alleged flagship counterpart.

The "Camon 20" is now said to have 256GB of internal storage to go with its 8GB of RAM, whereas the 20 Premier may have as much as 16GB.

Nevertheless, neither variant is projected to cost more than 40,000 shillings (KES, or ~US$294) on their initial Kenyan launch soon - then again, one or more of them may miss out on a 3.5mm jack, a microSD card slot or both.
