Judging from what might be its inaugural leak, the next-gen version of Motorola's Moto G Power will launch as an affordable Android smartphone with minimal updates compared to its pre-existing 2022 forebear. Then again, this means the supposedly upcoming device may stand to offer features such as a headphone jack as well as USB type-C charging and triple rear cameras, albeit in a slightly more compact form-factor this time around.

The Moto G Power 2022 is somewhat appropriately touted as a "3-day battery life" Android smartphone that started at ~US$200 with a 50MP main rear camera and a HD+/90Hz display driven by the MediaTek Helio G37 SoC (although it now tends to go for even less on Amazon). Accordingly, mobile device deal enthusiasts may be thrilled by the emergence of new rumors that a 2023 update is on the way.

According to tea spilled by OnLeaks in partnership with MySmartPrice, Motorola has prepared a new rear camera hump and least 1 new colorway (a very pale silver) for this "Moto G Power 2023". However, looking beyond this design revamp, updates for the smartphone seem very thin on the ground.

The "2023" G Power is still depicted with the same number of cameras, not to mention the same 6.5-inch display size, of its predecessor - whether this hardware comes with the exact same parameters remains to be seen, however.

Then again, its potentially unchanged screen is tipped to come in a chassis measuring 163.1x74.8x8.4mm (excluding the new camera bump), which, should OnLeaks and MySmartPrice have scored a hit here, would make it shorter, slimmer and narrower than the current G Power variant.

This apparently less superficial upgrade may have conferred a smaller chin on the device in this generation. Nevertheless, it may still have a headphone jack, albeit without top-mounted positioning this time. The Moto G Power (2023) is projected to be here "soon".
