Moto G Power 2022: Motorola announces another mid-range smartphone with a 5,000 mAh battery and a 50 MP camera

Motorola has showcased another new Moto G smartphone, having announced the Moto G31, Moto G41, Moto G51, Moto G71 and Moto G200 today. While these five smartphones will be orderable within the next few weeks, the new Moto G Power will not arrive until early next year.

For reference, Motorola calls the device 'the new Moto G Power', on account of the current version that it launched earlier this year. To spare any confusion, we will call the device the Moto G Power 2022, instead. Like other new Moto G smartphones, the Moto G Power 2022 has a 5,000 mAh battery and a 50 MP primary camera. However, its display is a 720p effort, a much lower resolution than the displays in other new Moto G smartphones. 

Motorola complements the 6.5-inch and 90 Hz panel with a MediaTek Helio G37, along with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage. The company also includes a microSD card reader, but pre-loads Android 11 rather than the newer Android 12. It is unclear whether Motorola plans to upgrade the Moto G Power 2022 to Android 12.

The device also has an 8 MP front-facing camera and dual 2 MP rear-facing cameras. The Moto G Power 2022 will be available in the US starting from US$199.99 for 64 GB of storage. Meanwhile, Motorola will charge US$249.99 for the device if you want 128 GB of storage. The company has not confirmed if it will launch the device in other markets apart from Canada, where it will arrive 'in the coming months'.
