Tentative Moto G200 Indian launch date outed by new leak
New information about the Moto G200's Indian launch date has emerged online via Twitter leaker @GadgetsData. His sources suggest that Motorola will launch the affordable flagship in the country on November 30, 2021. He further adds that the release date is tentative and could be subject to last-minute changes. Regardless, it should be no later than the second week of December 2021.
Based on previous releases, we can reasonably assume that the Moto G200's Indian price will be more or less equal to its global counterparts, i.e. EUR 450, which translates to roughly INR 37,000. However, Motorola can get away by charging a tad more for it, given that it is one of the few smartphones that run Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 888+ chipset. The Rs 30,000 (US$403) to Rs 40,000 (US$537) is a hotly contested segment in the Indian market chock full of offerings from the likes of Xiaomi, Vivo, OnePlus and iQOO.
The Moto G200 has the potential to disrupt the upper-mid-range segment of the Indian smartphone market massively. Unlike its predecessors, it bears all the markings of a high-end smartphone, such as a 108MP camera, 5,000mAh battery and a 144Hz LCD screen. That, coupled with its (hopefully) affordable price tag, should help Motorola re-establish itself in the world's second-largest smartphone market.
