Motorola confirms that one Moto Edge X30 variant will ship with an under-display selfie camera
Yesterday (December 6, 2021), Motorola divulged some information about the Moto Edge X30's camera and battery. Among other things, it told us that the smartphone would pack an industry-leading 60MP selfie camera and a pair of 50MP sensors at the back. Now, Motorola has taken to Weibo to shed more light on the Moto Edge X30's camera specs.
It seems that at least one Moto Edge X30 variant will pack an under-display selfie camera, while the other will opt for a more traditional hole-punch approach. Before the Qualcomm Tech Summit, Lenovo China's general manager hinted at this, so it isn't exactly new information. However, it does confirm that there will be multiple Moto Edge X30 variants, at least in China.
The Moto Edge X30 is shaping to be quite a formidable opponent for the Xiaomi 12 series slated to arrive on December 16. However, things will get a lot more exciting when other Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powerhouses such as the Nubia RedMagic 7 and Realme GT 2 Pro are out and about in early 2022, and it'll be interesting to see how these devices fare against each other.
