The Motorola Moto Edge X30 has beaten its competitors to the title of first smartphone to launch with the new flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor - albeit in China only. Now, however, a new leak may raise hopes of an international release for the device, in the market of India to start off with.

The announcement of the Moto Edge X30, not to mention its maker's claims as to what it can achieve with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, may have many tech enthusiasts eager to get their hands on one for themselves, especially at its attractive price-point. Then again, like many phones with its kind of interesting specs and features, it is exclusive to the Chinese market at present.

However, there are now signs that this may be about to change. 91Mobiles claims to have found a device with the Edge X30's model number (XT2201) on the database of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This new leak indicated that the smartphone is to launch in this new country soon.

This tip might also raise hopes that the flagship might launch in even more markets thereafter. Then again, Motorola has yet to make any official announcements to this effect. Nevertheless, the Moto Edge X30 would make a competitive addition to the smartphone market. Quite apart from its top-end silicon, it checks many other boxes, a 5,000mAh battery, up to 12GB of RAM and a 144Hz display included.
