New renders for Motorola's "Edge 30 Pro" dispute an earlier leak alleging changes in its design for the global market
Motorola may be able to lay claim to a bit of history as the first OEM with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 handset on the market. Then again, this Moto Edge X30 is only available on the Chinese market at present. It is expected to become available internationally, possibly starting with India, soon. However, according to a recent leak, those who have become enamored of the phone already from afar may not be able to get it in its current form.
This is because its design is rumored to change in order to become the "Edge 30 Pro", as the X30 might become known outside China. However, 91Mobiles claims to have been sent evidence to the effect that the older report was in fact false.
The blog claims that its new renders correspond exactly to the upcoming 30 Pro, mainly because they look exactly the same as the 'original' X30. On the other hand, it also now asserts that the former now has an in-display fingerprint reader, whereas the latter has one integrated into the power button.
This might be good news for some; hopefully, the putative change leaves the X30's 144Hz spec intact. On that note, the new leak makes no mention of the Moto Edge X30 Special Edition, which is a top-end version of the device with an under-display selfie camera. The supposedly up-to-date "Edge 30 Pro" renders incorporate a distinct punch-hole camera, by contrast.
