Rumor | Motorola's "Edge 30 Pro" will launch with an optional stylus and a case for both
The Moto G Stylus' (2022) launch might have been pushed even closer to probability in a fresh new leak. However, the existence of this device notwithstanding, it now seems Motorola might take its unique selling point and port it to its latest flagship phone - or its global variant, rather.
This new rumor pertains to the Moto Edge X30, which launched in China as the world's first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phone and might thus now tout itself as the same on the international stage soon. Now, the XDA claims that it will might also set itself up as the first phone with its SoC to support first-party drawing tools.
They are projected to include the "Motorola Smart Stylus", depicted as an accessory quite like the Samsung S Pen it is probably intended to emulate, in-built hardware button and all. Obviously, it can't be stored in or on its compatible smartphone; however, that is apparently what the new "Folio Case" is for.
This additional purchase might have a sheath for the Smart Stylus, found in the midline of the case in a way that may suggest Motorola has been watching Samsung and the mistakes made with its Galaxy Z Fold3 accessory design. The case's in-built screen cover has a landscape-oriented cut-out, through which the phone can display information such as time and notifications.
This, according to the XDA, may be how Motorola plans to challenge other OEMs with 2022 flagship phones on a global scale. On the other hand, the blog refers to the alleged accessories as compatible with the "Edge 30 Ultra", whereas the phone in question is now touted to launch as the 30 Pro instead.
