Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 pre-order pack includes S-Pen Pro, case and charger suggesting the latter is not included

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold3 launch is less than 36 hours away and the leaks continue to flow. In some markets, Galaxy Z Fold3 pre-orders will net you free Samsung Care+ which protects against accidental damage while other markets will receive a pre-order ‘Note Pack’. Leaker Snoopy has revealed that the pack will include the new S-Pen Pro, a companion case for the phone that houses the S-Pen as well as a 25 W charger. 

While all of that is good news for early adopters, the bad news is that it suggests that Samsung is dropping the charger from the box. Apple was the first major OEM to make the move citing environmental benefits through reducing packaging weight. Samsung joined Apple by dropping the charger from the box of the Galaxy S21 range earlier this year the new Galaxy Z Fold3 looks to continue the irksome trend. 

Samsung’s flagship sales, of course, have taken a major nose dive with the Galaxy S21 series selling a massive 47 percent fewer devices than the Galaxy S20 series. It’s hard to put it down solely to the loss of the charger from the box, but it does affect its value equation for some customers. Samsung has launched a review of its smartphone business as a result of sales declines across the board, but it wouldn’t surprise to see the company put chargers back in the box in the future.
