Samsung is now all but certain to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold3 on August 11, 2021. This new super-flagship is slated to come with many internals in common with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, albeit in a (supposedly upgraded and updated) foldable chassis as opposed to a traditional candy-bar smartphone shape.
They include the Snapdragon 888 processor found in US-, Chinese- and South Korean-market SKUs of the phone. Now, the eminent leaker Ice Universe has something interesting to say on this subject.
The famous tipster claims that the Galaxy Z Fold3 will come with thermal management that is "much stronger than" that of the S21 Ultra with the same SoC. Therefore, it may have "less heat" while performing certain tasks.
Then again, Ice Universe specifically mentions "daily games", thereby introducing the possibility this alleged difference might apply to more casual gaming as opposed to intensive sessions. On that note, recent Geekbench leaks attributed to the Z Fold3 have shown potential compared to most of those associated with a comparable S21 Ultra.
All in all, it seems Samsung's definitive Galaxy Unpacked launch-date announcement has done little to slow the Z Fold3 leak-train's roll. Its latest alleged renders appear to confirm an under-panel camera (UPC, or Samsung for under-display camera) will be set in its main flexible AMOLED display.
Meanwhile, the XDA's Matt Weinbach has lent further weight to the rumor that it, along with its Z Flip3 clamshell sibling, will launch with an IPX8 rating for improved resistance to liquid damage.
