The upcoming Axon 40 and its improved UDC display allegedly star in a new in-the-wild leak
ZTE's Axon 40 launch may be another heyday for fans of the dawntime of UDC tech: the vanilla flagship is now tipped to come with one even better than that of its 30-series predecessor. This is mainly because the small square that typically overlays the selfie camera in order to hide it beneath the display panel is is said to be higher-res than ever before.
In fact, it is now tipped to be FHD in resolution, and may thus blend in better with the majority of the Axon 40's allegedly 1440p panel. This theory may or may not be borne out in a new leak posted by the well-known tipster Bald Panda.
It consists of a phone that, with its squared-off shape and nearly non-existent forehead, could nearly be a Samsung Galaxy Note (or S22 Ultra) with a particularly curved-edge screen. However, the display in the image also exhibits no evidence of punch-holes at all, and is thus touted as an Axon 40.
Indeed, should this be the 3rd-gen ZTE phone, it is genuinely difficult to guess where the front-facing camera might be positioned along the top of the screen this time around. Bald Panda attributes this to the steady, but strong, progress the OEM is making with this probably trending form of display technology.
