Xiaomi allegedly sets Xiaomi 12 release date for the middle of next month

According to reports from China, Xiaomi has set a date to unveil the Xiaomi 12 series. For context, Xiaomi is expected to launch at least four devices under the Xiaomi 12 series: the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12 Ultra and the Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced. However, the latter two are not thought to be arriving until 2022; the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X may not arrive globally until early next year, too.

Reputedly, Xiaomi has scheduled at least a Xiaomi 12 launch event for December 16. The event is tipped to start at 19:30 CST (11:30 UTC) and will last four hours, way too long for a single device launch. Hence, it seems likely that Xiaomi would only schedule such a long launch event if it were planning to reveal multiple devices concurrently.

Xiaomi has not confirmed the date of its next launch event yet. Incidentally, December 16 would be 12 days shy of the Mi 11's first anniversary. If Xiaomi has settled on December 16 as the date when it will unveil the Xiaomi 12, we would expect it to start teasing the launch event towards the end of November or in early December.
