@xiaomiui claims to have discovered information about two upcoming flagship smartphones in MIUI code. According to the Twitter account, it has found references to the Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced, codenamed Lokia and Thor, respectively.
It adds that Xiaomi has assigned model numbers 'L1' and 'L1A' to the Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced and Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which Digital Chat Station has referenced previously. Based on previous leaks, the 'L1' is the Mi 11 Ultra's successor, with 'L1A' succeeding the Mi 11 Pro. Correspondingly, there will be no Xiaomi 12 Pro.
While Xiaomi sells the Mi 11 Ultra globally, @xiaomiui states that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced will be a China-exclusive smartphone, as will the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Hence, the Xiaomi 12 could be the only 12 series smartphone that Xiaomi releases globally, at least be fore the inevitable 12T and 12 Lite series.
Reputedly, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Ultra Enhanced share Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoCs, along with a 50 MP primary camera and a trio of 48 MP cameras. Presumably, the pair's design will differ though, as with the Mi 11 Pro and the Mi 11 Ultra.
