Images of alleged Xiaomi 12 phone cases have started cropping up on Chinese social media and Twitter. The cases are supposedly for the upcoming Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra case, which has turned up in two separate real-world images so far, reveals an unexpected main camera arrangement with a bump on top of another bump.

The Xiaomi 12 series is expected to be launched towards the end of December, so it is not surprising that leaks concerning the main trio of models – the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Ultra – have started increasing in frequency. Hot on the heels of details about the purported battery and charging capabilities of the Xiaomi flagships are a few images of their supposed protective cases. While there is nothing particular newsworthy about the cases for the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro, the outlandish design for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra case has been raising a few eyebrows.

The sources for the images, which are mostly Weibo users mass sharing them and the Hupu news platform, have offered up a total of four case pictures so far, with more likely to follow. As stated, the alleged cases for the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro are nothing out of the ordinary, with both featuring four holes in the camera bump area for the phones’ camera equipment. However, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra case looks more like it has been designed for a future Huawei Mate smartphone thanks to its circular arrangement. The overall bump is huge, covering over a third of the case surface area, with a considerable aperture in the center for the main Xiaomi 12 Ultra camera.

As can be seen in the images below, the round camera bump in the case for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra features no fewer than eight separate holes for the sensors. On top of that revelation, it also seems that the circular camera bump is on top of another bump in the shape of a rounded rectangle. Although the leaked cases for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra appear in two different forms and ostensibly in two different locations, it might be best to take this information with a pinch of salt for the time being, although it shouldn’t be too long before artist renditions of this surprising Xiaomi phone design start appearing online.
