Beautiful render video shows the Xiaomi 12 Ultra with its rumored Leica quad camera
A smartphone with Leica branded cameras is not exactly a groundbreaking new invention, since the Sharp Aquos R6 is already available in Japan and features an accordingly large 1-inch circular Leica camera setup on its back. According to recent leaks, the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra could be equipped with a similar Leica branded camera system. This rumor gained more steam a few days ago, when leaked case designs for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra revealed a possibly gigantic camera bump on the back of Xiaomi's new flagship smartphone.
Based on these intriguing rumors and leaks regarding the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, the designers at Technizio Concept have now created a beautiful 3D concept render video which imagines the aforementioned circular camera setup and the iconic red Leica logo on the back of the black and white models of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra - Leaks, rumors and many unknowns
Although these Xiaomi 12 Ultra renders look beautiful, the authenticity of the alleged camera design is fairly controversial. The aforementioned case leaks in particular may very well be a quite sophisticated product of a Xiaomi fan with access to a 3D printer, but on the other hand the Chinese smartphone manufacturer appears to be eager to try out new designs, which is exemplified by the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and its tiny secondary display built into the camera bump. Considering the previously rumored Leica collaboration and leaked camera specs, a Xiaomi 12 Ultra with such a huge circular camera setup certainly appears to be in the realm of possibilities.
However, specific information on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra remain scarce, even though the base model Xiaomi 12 is expected to launch in about two weeks time. In addition to the Xiaomi 12 base model and Xiaomi 12 Ultra, rumors suggest the release of a Xiaomi 12X and 12 Pro, and maybe even a Xiaomi 12 Lite and 12 Lite Zoom. Since the case leak of the Xiaomi 12 Pro indicates that it will have a much different rectangular camera bump with three lenses, the circular Leica quad camera system seen in these renders will apparently be exclusive to the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
