Xiaomi 12 Pro: A new leak hints at a polarizing design choice in the upcoming flagship
A number of recent leaks point toward a line of next-gen Xiaomi flagship phones that will drop the classic Mi branding for the first time in history. Most of these tips concern the vanilla "12" or "12 Ultra"; however, one of the latest also points toward the release of a "12 Pro". However, it seems this new leak may not contain good news for all.
It consists of a render of the alleged 12 Pro's front panel, which, apparently, will definitely retain the curvature seen in the Mi 11 Pro. It has been presented by a Weibo user called "8090 Digital Beauty" (or so Google Translate thinks), who would patently prefer their Xiaomi flagships without this design element.
The putative display also has curved corners, which does track with earlier renders and tips on the subject of Xiaomi's upcoming premium smartphones. On the other hand, they have been subject to emphatic dismissal on the part of a Redmi executive recently.
On the other hand, should this new render prove accurate, it suggests Xiaomi has managed to make the bezels constant on all sides in this upcoming generation, whereas the Mi 11 Pro had somewhat of a chin.
Then again, it now seems its successor might retain a punch-hole selfie camera rather than something like that of the Mi Mix 4. It migrates from the left corner to the middle of this new curved display.
