The global versions of the Redmi 9 and Redmi Note 9 have begun their journeys to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. Starting today, the pair will receive the OS update in Xiaomi's Mi Pilot beta program, effectively MIUI's open beta stage of testing. From there, the updates should reach Beta Stable status before rolling out to all eligible handsets as Stable updates.
If you are a Mi Pilot tester, then you can download the recovery zip for your device via the links below. Xiaomi has also updated both devices to Google's October 2021 security patch, outlined in the latest Android Security Bulletin.
Incidentally, V12.5.3.0.RJCMIXM for the Redmi 9 contains no bug fixes or optimisations. By contrast, V12.5.2.0.RJOMIXM has both in abundance with over two-dozen split between the lock screen, status bar and the notification shade. You can read the full changelog for V12.5.2.0.RJOMIXM on the accompanying Telegram post.
All files are hosted on Xiaomi's servers rather than a third-party website. Please note that you should only install the OTA file for the Redmi Note 9 if your device is already running V12.5.1.0.RJOMIXM. Both recovery zip files are over 2 GB downloads too, for reference.
