Xiaomi has brought another security patch update to the Mi A3, its last-supported Android One smartphone. V12.0.15.0.RFQMIXM is rolling out now to handsets on MIUI's global branch.

Xiaomi has upgraded the Mi A3 to Google's latest security patch. The October 2021 security patch arrives in V12.0.15.0.RFQMIXM, replacing V12.0.14.0.RFQMIXM that arrived last month. You can read what security changes Google has made this month in its latest Android Security Bulletin.

V12.0.15.0.RFQMIXM bundles just the October security patch. Hence, it is a small update at 40.56 MB. V12.0.15.0.RFQMIXM is rolling out to the Mi A3 as an over-the-air (OTA) update. Please note that the update is only available for the global version of the Mi A3. Xiaomi is yet to update the European edition of the handset, but this should arrive within the next week or so.

The Mi A3 should continue to receive security patch updates until at least July 2022. All future updates will only contain new security patches though; the Mi A3 will remain on Android 11 indefinitely. Incidentally, it seems unlikely that Xiaomi will ever release another Android One smartphone.
