Xiaomi is expected to debut the Xiaomi 12 flagship series before the end of the year. The Chinese company has been tipped to launch a "Mini" model in the series, and new leaks now purport to provide some details of that particular phone.
According to word from China, the Xiaomi 12 Mini—as it will be referred to henceforth till a proper name is revealed—will feature a 6.3-inch display. That doesn't count as a compact phone by any means but would be Xiaomi's smallest premium phone on sale.
Leaker Bald Panda confirms that the Xiaomi 12 Mini is internally listed as "L3" and will be powered by a Snapdragon 870. A Snapdragon 870 remains an impressively capable premium chipset, which makes sense considering the phone's flagship positioning. Interestingly, the source hints that this could be some kind of foldable phone. There also appear to be closely related model with a 6.6-inch display.
In addition, Digital Chat Station has claimed that a phone in the Xiaomi 12 series will sport a FHD+ display instead of the QHD+ screens on the other models. The leaker also clarifies that the phone in question isn't the Xiaomi 12 Youth Edition, which could mean it's the purported Xiaomi 12 Mini.
