Xiaomi is rumored to have a 12X handset with a 'Mini'-sized display in the works, with a pre-existing Snapdragon 870 SoC. Despite this spec, it is now forecast to launch alongside flagships with a whole new generation of Qualcomm processors. This event is now thought to take place about a month from now.

Xiaomi is now projected to jump on the 'mini flagship phone' bandwagon with the 12X, an Android device said to have a height of just 145.4 millimeters (mm) with a width of no more than 65.4mm, for an overall screen size of about 6.28 inches. Now, those dimensions are rumored to be confirmed or denied as early as December 2021.

This is because the OEM is slated to hold a product event for the Xiaomi 12 series, which may be the first flagship Android devices to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1, also scheduled to debut from Qualcomm at around the same time.

This launch is also now expected to debut the 12X, even though it is slated to have the Snapdragon 870 processor rather than the brand new flagship. Then again, the new rumor, sparked by a new post from Digital Chat Station, might also imply that the Xiaomi 12X' Pro variant, tipped to have the same display size but with a Gen1 SoC instead, will launch alongside it.
