Redmi is predicted to release the K50 series of smartphone soon, at least one of which might be based on the potentially top-end Dimensity 9000 processor. Their predecessors were pitched as flagship killers, with cost-saving measures that included chassis types made of curving plastic and frame-mounted fingerprint sensors. However, Redmi might go a different way with their successors.
The eminent leaker Digital Chat Station now claims that Redmi will jump on the iPhone 13-cloning bandwagon with the K50 range, outfitting it with flat displays and frames at right angles to the same. Their potentially high-refresh-rate displays are now also thought to re-integrate the devices' fingerprint readers.
Digital Chat Station now hints at 5,000mAh batteries for the upcoming line of Redmi phones, which, while generous, is not quite at the 5,500mAh level projected for them earlier. Nevertheless, their new form-factor might be pleasing to many consumers.
It may also be good news for POCO fans, as the K50 line might also yield the brand's next F4 GT flagship as a rebrand (again). However, the design might be less well received among gamers, as flat edges might be less amenable to long playing sessions. Therefore, it would be interesting to see if the rumored K50 Gaming Edition turns out with these newly alleged updates.
