The Redmi K50 range of smartphones is already rumored to arrive in the form of high-quality handsets based on the specs predicted for them thus far. Now, a prominent leaker asserts their OEM will compound them with builds rated for IP68 levels of ingress-protection. The tipster also now supports the prospect of upgraded charging tech in the upcoming devices.

Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand is now firmly linked to rumors of next-gen flagships with pretty much all the bells and whistles going. Now, Digital Chat Station has added to this apparent wish-list of specs with hints of official IP68 ratings for the upcoming "K50" series.

Talk of the certification is found in one of the tipster's latest Weibo posts, as one of a short list of specs reportedly attributed to the K40 successors. It appears alongside the mention of 100W charging, thereby backing up other leakers that have claimed an identical upgrade for the same devices.

If true, it would make the K50 or K50 Pro Xiaomi's second-fastest phone in terms of charging to date. Digital Chat Station has also made reference to a more cryptic (when machine-translated) "symmetric double raising" property in one or more new Redmi flagships. This could be taken to mean another outing for the increasingly popular angel-eye rear camera hump - or, possibly, dual speakers firing in opposite directions.
