Xiaomi is preparing the Redmi K50 series for launch. Over the past few weeks, leaks have surfaced about the lineup, and a new one has now revealed tidbits about the Redmi K50 Pro's performance and camera hardware.
According to Xiaomiui, the Redmi K50 Pro will be powered by a Snapdragon 898. That should be expected at this point, as the range toppers of previous generations in the series have all featured Qualcomm's flagship SoCs at the time. The source also indicates that the Redmi K50 Pro is codenamed "Ingres", essentially confirming speculation from last week.
Camera-wise, the Redmi K50 Pro is tipped to feature a 64 MP main camera. The sensor is said to be Omnivision's OV64B. It will be joined by an ultra-wide-angle and a macro camera. A telephoto lens is expected to be absent but that shouldn't be surprising considering Xiaomi's penchant for reserving its zoom lenses for its most premium phones. The vanilla Mi 11, for example, lacks a telephoto lens as well. The Redmi K50 Pro will debut next year.
