Redmi K50 series detailed in new leak: E5 displays, 108 MP camera, 120 W charging, and more
The Redmi K50 series looks set to launch before the end of the year. Multiple reports have surfaced about the phone but a new set of leaks now provide a good idea of what to expect from the lineup, with the series apparently offering three devices: the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, and Redmi K50 Pro+.
Going by reports from China, all three phones will feature E5 displays. We've seen E5 displays on phones like the iQOO 8 Pro and Vivo X70 Pro+; phones like the Xiaomi 12 series and Samsung Galaxy S22 series are also expected to feature that panel. We can expect the Redmi K50 series to offer 120 Hz refresh rates as well.
Cameras are where things diverge. The vanilla Redmi K50 is expected to sport a 48 MP main camera, the Redmi K50 Pro is tipped for a 50 MP camera, and the range-topping Redmi K50 Pro+ should feature a 108 MP main camera. We're not sure what sensors those are but an ISOCELL HMX for the Redmi K50 Pro+ and either an IMX766 or ISOCELL GN5 for the Redmi K50 Pro would be good bets.
As previously revealed, the Redmi K50 Pro is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 888, while the Redmi K50 Pro+ will feature a next-gen Snapdragon 898. This opens up the possibility for the release of the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro before the end of the year, with the Redmi K50 Pro+ to follow in Q1 2022. In addition to all of this, the Redmi K50 Pro+ is tipped to offer 120 W fast-charging, just like the Xiaomi 11T Pro. The Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50 get 67 W and 33 W charging respectively.
Redmi K50, K50 Pro & K50 Pro+ specifications tipped.
