The Redmi K50 series is coming. At the moment, it appears there will be at least two devices in the series: a Redmi K50 and a Redmi K50 Pro. A new leak has now provided information on when to expect the phones.
Going by word on the grapevine, the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro will not launch together. The vanilla K50 could debut sometime this year, while the K50 Pro could land next year. That makes sense, considering the release timeline of other Xiaomi products. The Redmi K30 and Mi 11 lines followed similar schedules when they were released, for example. The source also tips the Redmi K50 to launch with Android 11, with the Redmi K50 Pro to make its debut running Android 12.
According to the same leak, the Redmi K50 will launch with a Snapdragon 870. In contrast, the Redmi K50 Pro will be equipped with a Snapdragon 898. The Xiaomi 12 will likely be Xiaomi's first phone to feature the Snapdragon 898, so it's logical for the Redmi K50 Pro to be launched later.
