Redmi K50 Gaming Pro: Leak reveals a Dimensity 9000 and expected launch date
While the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen-powered Xiaomi 12 may dominate the headlines, Xiaomi is also working on the Redmi K50 series. As previously revealed, in addition to the regular Redmi K50 series, Xiaomi will release the Redmi K50 Gaming lineup, and a new leak has now provided some more details.
Going by word on the grapevine, Xiaomi plans to release the Redmi K50 Gaming and the Redmi K50 Gaming Pro in the future. While previous leaks indicated that the Redmi K50 Gaming Pro would debut in December, new information says otherwise. Supposedly, the Redmi K50 Gaming Pro will actually be released in April 2022.
According to the source, the Redmi K50 Gaming will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7000, while the Redmi K50 Gaming Pro will feature MediaTek's new Dimensity 9000. Those two devices may be exclusive to China, sadly. As for the regular Redmi K50 series, the vanilla Redmi K50 will feature a Snapdragon 870 with the Redmi K50 Pro getting the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. All of these phones will launch with MIUI 13 and, as it stands, it appears that the Snapdragon models still offer better performance than their MediaTek-powered counterparts.
