Honor has already assured its fans that it will release a mobile device based on the brand-new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. However, according to a famous tipster, it won't be its first-gen foldable. This phablet is now tipped to be the first of its kind to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

MediaTek has made its potentially flagship-grade SoC the Dimensity 9000 official. Honor lost no time in announcing that it would release a smartphone based on the new processor in the future. However, it may be too early for further details on this device.

Nevertheless, some fans might hope that it might launch sooner rather than later. However, Digital Chat Station has taken it upon themselves to shoot that line of speculation off in advance by placing a different chipset first in the OEM's timeline instead.

Any disappointment might be allayed by the identity of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as this processor. Digital Chat Station has also claimed that 2022's first foldable smartphone will also launch with this chipset will be here by January.

As the leaker has made all of these comments in the same post, it could be assumed that the device in question will be Honor's own inaugural addition to this market, slated to be called either the Magic X or Magic Fold.

It is projected to have much in common with the Huawei Mate X2 in terms of design, although it now seems it might be more powerful from the inside - not to mention a potential sales hit for the company.
