Right as scheduled, MediaTek has now officially launched its most ambitious chipset yet, the Dimensity 9000. The new Dimensity 9000 is the company's first flagship SoC since the old deca-core Helio chipsets from 2017, and rivals Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for superiority in the flagship space.
Seeing as the Dimensity 9000 was already unveiled weeks ago, there's nothing new to be learned about the SoC itself. It's built on TSMC's 4 nm node and features one Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.05 GHz, three Cortex-A710 cored clocked at 2.85 GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The onboard GPU is ARM's Mali-G710 MC10.
The Dimensity 9000 offers support for WQHD+ displays at 144 Hz and FHD+ displays at 180 Hz, 4-channel LPDDR5X RAM, and 320 MP camera capture.
Fans have nothing to fear with respect to adoption as Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo have already committed to using the Dimensity 9000 on their next-gen flagship phones. Xiaomi confirmed the chipset for the Redmi K50 Gaming and OPPO did so for what looks to be the OPPO Find X4.
MTK claims the Dimensity 9000 achieves +20% multicore performance compared to Snapdragon 8Gen1.
