Xiaomi Redmi K50: Lu Weibing confirms release timings of Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 models
Lu Weibing, Redmi General Manager, has dropped more hints about the Redmi K50 series. Expected to arrive this month, the Redmi K50 series could be Chinese exclusives initially. While Xiaomi has not announced a Redmi K50 series launch event yet, it has revealed a few details about at least one Redmi K50 handset.
As we have discussed previously, the Redmi K50 series will support up to 120 W fast charging and a 4,700 mAh battery. The same teaser hinted at a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 being present too, reiterated by Weibing. Writing on Weibo, Weibing announced to fans that Redmi would release a 'fierce' during the year of the Tiger, which starts today. Seemingly, this 'fierce' device will receive its 'hardcore performance' from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, currently Qualcomm's flagship mobile SoC.
Additionally, Weibing claims that the mystery Redmi K50 device has double vapour chamber cooling, Xiaomi's new CyberEngine haptics motor and a surprise of some sort. Weibing also announced that Xiaomi will release Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered versions of the Redmi K50 series before announcing Dimensity 9000 versions. Supposedly, Dimensity 9000-backed editions will arrive 'a little later' than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 model that Weibing has teased.
