Xiaomi may not have confirmed when it will reveal the Redmi K50 series, but Redmi's General Manager has offered a few hints. Writing on Weibo using a Redmi K50, Lu Weibing has teased his followers by stating that the series will make its way to market 'very very soon'. Additionally, Weibing suggested that he could announce the Redmi K50 series' launch date today, although he has not published anything since.
Separately, alleged case designs of the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro have leaked. Purportedly, the former has a smaller camera housing than the latter, which we have embedded below. Both have three rear-facing cameras in a triangular arrangement, though. Based on previous leaks, Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro with Snapdragon 870 and Dimensity 8000 chipsets, respectively.
Moreover, the Redmi K50 is tipped to launch for CNY 1,999 (~US$314), significantly less than the Redmi K50 Pro (CNY 2,699/~US$424). It remains to be seen if these case designs are accurate, even if there are multiple examples of the same camera design. At any rate, the reference to the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro featuring 108 MP cameras is likely a guess more than anything.
