Samsung announces an extensive update for the Galaxy Watch4 series and nearly a dozen new watch bands
Samsung has announced a major update to the Galaxy Watch4 series, released last year as the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic. Leaked yesterday by GSMArena, Samsung has brought improved body composition analysis to the pair, along with cyclist and runner-specific interval training programs.
As the screenshots below show, Samsung has introduced VO2 max, sweat loss and recovery heart rate tracking. Additionally, Samsung has enabled 'Sleep Coaching', a one-month program designed to improve sleep quality by following 'daily missions like exercising, meditating, and avoiding naps'. The Galaxy Watch4 or Galaxy Watch4 Classic will also provide a daily log about your progress.
Moreover, Samsung has announced eight new watch bands for the Galaxy Watch4 and two link bracelets for the Galaxy Watch4 Classic. According to Samsung, the software update will be available from tomorrow through the Galaxy Wearable app.
By contrast, the new watch straps will be orderable 'beginning late February'. Presumably, Samsung will release the straps around the time it starts shipping the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S8 series, expected to be on February 25. By contrast, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ may not ship until March 11.
