Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active 2, Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch 3 receive major updates containing new features
Samsung has announced updates for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3, both now replaced by the Galaxy Watch 4 series. The company has also brought updates to the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active, released in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Effectively, Samsung has ported many of the features from the Galaxy Watch 4 series to its older smartwatches, including ten new watch faces. Samsung allows you to personalise them too, such as by offering different backgrounds or animals.
Additionally, Samsung has added the option of starting group exercise challenges with friends and family members. You do not need to complete these challenges with each other, either. Instead, you can compete remotely, which is handy. Moreover, Samsung has improved fall detection on the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3. Now, both smartwatches should be able to send SOS notifications automatically to pre-selected contacts.
Moreover, you can now download the Samsung Health Monitor app on the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 in Australia, Azerbaijan, Paraguay and Georgia, matching the availability of the Galaxy Watch 4 series. All updates are rolling out now, but they could take a few days to reach your particular smartwatch.
