Samsung starts One UI 4 and Android 12 upgrades with the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus and the Galaxy S21 Ultra
Samsung has announced the release of One UI 4, its version of Android 12. The OS update arrives first on the Galaxy S21 series, which consists of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus and the Galaxy S21 Ultra until the Galaxy S21 FE arrives. Today's release of One UI 4 makes Samsung one of the first Android OEMs to release stable Android 12 updates to its devices.
One UI 4 should be rolling out to the Galaxy S21 series globally as of today. Typically, Samsung takes a few days before issuing OS upgrades to all regions, though. As Samsung outlines in the videos below, One UI 4 brings many new features to its smartphones, including improvement privacy settings, a privacy dashboard and an 'Extra Dim' feature that should reduce eye strain when using your device at night.
Samsung is yet to announce a full One UI 4 upgrade plan, at least not one that it wants people to see. However, it has confirmed that One UI 4 will soon be available for the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note 10 series and Galaxy Z series. One UI 4.0 will be headed to these other devices, too:
- Galaxy A82 5G
- Galaxy A72
- Galaxy A52
- Galaxy A52 5G
- Galaxy A52s 5G
- Galaxy A42 5G
- Galaxy Tab S7
