Samsung releases Expert RAW app for the Galaxy S21 Ultra in South Korea
A key differentiator in the smartphone wars is the battle over which device has the best camera capabilities. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is already one of the best on the market at the moment with its night-mode, telephoto and ultra-wide capabilities particular highlights. Although the stock camera app already has a pro mode with manual controls, it didn’t extend to the telephoto lenses, which the new app does.
If there is a parallel to be drawn with Samsung’s news Expert RAW camera app, it is with the Pro mode on the Sony Xperia I and 5 series smartphones that was developed in conjunction with its Alpha camera experts. This is clearly the sort of approach Samsung has adopted with its new app. Users will be able to adjust exposure, focus, ISO, shutter speed and white balance, among other tweaks, across the S21 Ultra’s primary lens, ultra-wide, 3x telephoto and 10x telephoto lenses.
Currently, the Expert RAW camera app is only available on the Galaxy S21 Ultra running the Android 12-based One UI 4.0, and only in South Korea. However, if you hit up the link to the source below, the APK file has been made available for those who can’t wait for it to roll out to their locale. However, that option always carries an element of risk, so we would advise waiting till it lands officially in your country’s Galaxy Store.
