Samsung has started distributing a new version of One UI 4.0 Beta to Galaxy S21 series handsets. If you have a Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus or a Galaxy S21 Ultra and you would like to join this year's beta, you can do so via the Samsung Members app. Currently, One UI 4.0 Beta is available on devices purchased in China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK and the US.
As the screenshots below show, One UI 4.0 now supports Android 12's 'Material You' theming options, a version of which Samsung previously included in Good Lock. Additionally, Samsung has ported 'RAM Plus' across from One UI 3.0, introduced last month on the Galaxy A52s 5G. Samsung allows people to assign 4 GB of virtual RAM, or a 4 GB pagefile, in other words.
Additionally, One UI 4.0 Beta 2 adds new microphone modes for video calls, including an option to minimise ambient noise. The new beta fixes several bugs too, including one that affected Secure Folder. One UI 4.0 Beta 2 is rolling out now and can be downloaded directly onto your Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus or Galaxy S21 Ultra. The One UI 4.0 Beta programme should eventually reach other Samsung handsets, as we discussed previously.
