LetsGoDigital, working with designer Technizo Concept, has published renders and a teaser video of a phone the outlet has called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Note. The new renditions of this concept device are based on a patent filed by Samsung, which we reported about last month, that show how the Galaxy Note series could develop to keep being relevant over the coming years.
It seems Samsung has decided that foldable and flexible (and even rollable) are the key words of the future when it comes to smartphone design. Clearly this means there is no space for the beloved Galaxy Note series, which has faced a torrent of rumors and leaks lately arguing about its impending demise or unexpected resurrection. With a phone like the Galaxy Z Fold Note (or Galaxy Flex Note), Samsung would be able to keep the Note family alive and incorporate its passion for foldable displays.
As can be seen in the expertly crafted renders and video below, the Galaxy Z Fold Note folds outwards, which could be an issue as it would make it easier to accidentally damage. However, as the source points out, it would also make the foldable phone lighter and potentially cheaper. The all-important S Pen is integrated into two grooves cut into the back and presumably held in place by magnets.
Although this is purely an unofficial concept, it’s not difficult to imagine Samsung forging ahead with such a device. The company has been garnering plenty of attention with the dual release of both the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, and it is obvious that the South Korean OEM wants to be the leader in this particular field. A Galaxy Z Fold Note or Galaxy Flex Note would undoubtedly be a fan favorite as long as it didn’t cost a small fortune.
