Apple refreshed the iPhone SE last year, four years after the original model. Ostensibly, the second-generation iPhone SE is an iPhone 7 with an A13 Bionic SoC and 1 GB more RAM. The inclusion of an A13 Bionic also brings Wi-Fi 6 connectivity to the iPhone 7 form factor, along with Bluetooth 5.0 and 4K/60 FPS video support.
Reputedly, Apple is planning to release a third-generation iPhone SE, albeit not until next year. As we discussed last month, a Q2 2022 release date may be likely, seeing as Apple released the second-generation model in April. In light of that, ConceptsiPhone has imagined how the iPhone SE 3 could look if Apple adopted the iPhone 14's rumoured design.
Unescapably, ConceptsiPhone has repurposed the frame from the iPhone 13 series, giving their concept a distinctly iPhone 4 look. While the design is consistent with current rumours for future iPhones, we would be surprised if the next iPhone SE looked like this. So far, Apple has re-used four-year-old iPhone bodies from iPhone SE handsets.
If Apple continues this with the next iPhone SE, then it may resemble the iPhone XS or the iPhone XR. The former is smaller than the latter, making it a more probable candidate in our opinion. The iPhone XS is nowhere near as small as the original iPhone SE though, but it is only 5 mm taller than the iPhone SE 2. Plausibly, the next iPhone SE will launch with the A15 Bionic SoC.
