At the beginning of last week Apple has released a major update for its mobile operating system iOS for iPhones, which now operates under the version number 15. The update brought many welcome changes and improvements to newer iOS devices, although not all features have made it to older Apple smartphones. A few minutes ago, Apple has now released a small hotfix that is intended to solve a couple of annoying iOS 15 bugs and issues.
According to Apple's official change log, the iOS 15.0.1 update includes three bugfixes overall. First of all, users of a brand-new iPhone 13 (from US$829 on Amazon) should now be able to properly unlock their smartphone with their Apple Watch while they are wearing a mask. Furthermore, a bug in the settings app has been resolved which caused an unwarranted warning that the device's storage was full, even though it was not.
Last but not least, audio meditations can no longer unexpectedly trigger a workout on the Apple Watch, which apparently has happened to some subscribers of Apple's new Apple Fitness+ service. It is fairly likely that Apple also included some other security related changes and adjustments behind the scenes in addition to the aforementioned bugfixes, which is why all iPhone users are recommended to install the iOS 15.0.1 update. On the iPhone 7 for example, the download size of the iOS 15.0.1 update is 455MB.
