After the excitement caused by Apple's California Streaming event and the new iPhone 13 has slowly but surely calmed down, analysts are already focusing on 2022 and expect the Cupertino-based tech giant to release at least two much anticipated upgrades to its technically most advanced tablet as well as its very popular wireless headphones. In his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has reiterated that he expects Apple to launch a redesigned iPad Pro and the AirPods Pro 2 in 2022.
Gurman does not see any chances that Apple will introduce these two updates at its upcoming second fall keynote of 2021, which is rumored to take place in a few weeks time. However, the well-known Apple analyst has previously offered details on the technical improvements of the iPad Pro 2022 and the AirPods Pro 2. While the second generation AirPods Pro will supposedly come with new fitness tracking features, the new iPad Pro could purportedly have a glass back that would enable wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging of accessories like the aforementioned AirPods.
These technical upgrades certainly sound intriguing, but Gurman's prophecies are merely speculations for products that will not be released anytime soon. Therefore the final feature set and technical specifications of the 2022 iPad Pro and AirPods Pro 2 remain unknown. The release of the redesigned iPad Pro in particular appears to be way ahead since Apple has already released an iPad Pro (from US$749 on Amazon) with the exciting M1 SoC in April 2021.
